CLOUDMUNCH LAUNCHES FIRST FULL-STACK DEVOPS PLATFORM,
MAKES CONTINUOUS DELIVERY FAST & EASY FROM CODE TO ANY CLOUD

CloudMunch Gives Developers the Benefits of Full-Stack Continuous Delivery for
Applications and Infrastructure via GitHub and Opscode Chef™ Integrations

SEATTLE, WA and SANTA CLARA, CA – April 2, 2013 – Today from the DeployCon Conference at Cloud Connect, CloudMunch, a provider of SaaS based DevOps tools, announced the availability of the CloudMunch DevOps Platform, a first-of-its-kind full-stack continuous delivery platform. CloudMunch significantly simplifies continuous delivery of applications and infrastructure for developers, while giving development teams the ability to satisfy the business thirst for faster deployment of new features & applications.
Building on CloudMunch’s existing Jenkins features, new Github and Opscode Chef integrations help developers achieve higher-quality code delivered in much faster development cycles.  Developers can now use the combined strength of CloudMunch’s GitHub-to-Cloud with 1 Click functionality and Opscode Chef for deploy-anywhere continuous delivery.  CloudMunch is now the first DevOps platform to bring continuous integration, continuous deployment and advanced DevOps management features to a single SaaS application.
“With the accelerating adoption of cloud-based platform services for development, continuous delivery of both application and infrastructure is an area ripe for innovation,” says Krishnan Subramanian, principal analyst at Rishidot Research and founder of the DeployCon Conference.
“CloudMunch simplifies continuous delivery for distributed DevOps teams. By combining application automation tools with Chef's infrastructure automation capabilities, CloudMunch is giving developers the benefits of full-stack continuous delivery in a single SaaS platform,” said Bryan Hale, vice president, Opscode. “CloudMunch's integration with Chef gives the Chef community a great option for automating build, test, and deploy processes in the cloud."
The developer benefits of using CloudMunch include:
  • Get to Market Faster – GitHub-to-Cloud with 1 Click: CloudMunch enables sign-in with a GitHub ID to enable developers to get started with continuous integration, testing and continuous deployment in minutes. With one click, import code repos, automatically detect test settings and set up for a wide range of web apps. Developers simply enter Chef keys and CloudMunch automatically imports environments and nodes.
  • Reduce Deployment Complexity: CloudMunch integrates with Chef to import Chef environments and deploy to Chef nodes. Developers can use and extend more than 800 existing Chef cookbooks or use their Chef recipes and build and validate them continuously using Foodcritic. Also, developers can easily create Chef nodes by launching pre-configured CloudMunch Chef images.
  • Improve Collaboration and Decision Making: Developers can tap into the full capabilities of the CloudMunch DevOps Dashboard.  Its collaboration features facilitate discussion across development QA and Ops teams, while in-context, real time analytics deliver intelligent build metrics and real time infrastructure monitoring via AWS Cloudwatch and Nagios. It is also plug and play with a broad range of developer-favorite open source and industry standard tools.
“CloudMunch marks the first time a DevOps tool bring continuous delivery of applications and infrastructure together in such a simplified fashion for developers,” said Pradeep Prabhu, CloudMunch CEO. “We are democratizing continuous delivery -- what was such a hard and expensive set of integrations is now one click from GitHub to the cloud.”
CloudMunch was one of the 8 start-ups AWS selected to launch AWS Re:Invent Conference in November, 2012.  CloudMunch Pro has more than 30 customers including Beyond Square, EduSpace, JamCracker, and Tartento.

  1. Cloud hosting has gained a stronger standing in the cloud computing world thanks to the active participation of enterprises in recent years. The cloud’s success lies in its potential to significantly impact IT costs through direct costs savings, save time in development and deployment, and to save resource allocation overheads.
